Inmate in cellCome hear State Representative Michael Schraa present his WISGREAT plan, which is an intensive alcoholism treatment pilot project.

Representative Michael SchraaRep. Schraa’s proposal is designed to increase access to treatment for violators of Act 371 that was passed last year related to fourth offense and higher OWIs. The WISGREAT plan will allow individuals to maintain their jobs while in treatment. We believe this approach to addressing alcohol addiction will reduce recidivism, keep families connected, and ultimately make communities safer and bealthier for all. Those completing treatment successfully would serve the remainder of their sentence under community supervision, instead of in prison.

Presenters include: Rep. Michael Schraa, Winnebago County Public Health, ESTHER Treatment Instead of Prison Task Force
