Time: 11:30-1:00 pm

Where: Atlas Coffee Mill, Appleton (425 W Water St)

This task force's goal is to ensure that the Fox Valley has enough housing within the reach of working families.  The Fox Cities have a need for workforce housing—that is, housing that is within the economic reach of those who work in necessary jobs that pay less than the county median income.

The task force meets the second Monday of each month.   We welcome new leaders to attend our task force meetings.

March 9 - Immigration Task Force

When: Tuesday, March 9th

Time: 6:00-8:00 pm

Where: Harmony Cafe, Appleton (233 East College Avenue)

Our task force works to raise awareness of immigrant rights issues in our community, specifically those affecting the Latino population in the Valley.

The task force meets the second Tuesday of each month.  We welcome newcomers to attend our task force meetings.

Where: St. Paul Lutheran, 200 North Commercial Street, Neenah

We will hear a reading A Letter from Birmingham Jail written by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. followed by a discussion on recent justice issues and our faith communities. We cannot stress the importance of solidarity at a time like this. Lunch will be provided with a suggested donation of $5.00.

Our Religious Leaders Caucus is open to clergy, lay-clergy and religious leaders within the greater Fox Valley. We welcome newcomers.  We meet the second Thursday of each month and rotate location.

March 2010: National Weeklong Leadership Training

Posted in

When: March 2010

Where: Techny, Illinois

National Leadership training is a seven day residential training event that presents the basic concepts and tools needed to be an effective leader.  It affords a person the opportunity to reflect on his/her present and future potential roles in the public arena.  The method is Socratic. The style is agitational. The training is offered four times each year in the United States, of which two are within the Midwest.

Ours is an environment for learning, nurturing and growth, where relationships are developed through daily exchange of ideas and experiences.  An intangible, but perhaps the most invaluable commodity of the Gamaliel Foundation is the mutual support of the leaders and organizers as they engage in the work of creating healthy communities.   The Founding Fathers of this country wanted there to be a "robust debate in the market place of ideas." And so it is with us.
